I didn't have the greatest night's sleep because I was SO cold. I was sitting in the dark typing this while everyone else was sleeping at 6am and could see my breath in the air as I exhaled. It was freezing in our campervan last night. It was definitely the coldest night we had on our trip. Matt said the temp was 20 degrees when we woke up and it got to 16 degrees overnight. We both kept waking up in the night because it was so cold. Luckily, the kids stay warmer than the rest of the van sleeping up above the driver’s seat. All the puddles in the campground were frozen with ice so the kids enjoyed cracking all of it as they walked around.

We made a few stops along the scenic road to take pictures of the Southern Alps and the countryside.

Upon arrival into Christchurch, we checked into our hotel, returned the campervan and got our rental car. I can’t believe our trip to New Zealand is over. It was so much fun! Driving around in a campervan was a great way to see the beautiful countryside. We did hit one last tourist spot before the day was over. We took the gondola ride up to the top of a mountain to see the views of Christchurch as the sun was setting. It was a great way to finish up a phenomenal trip!
